Mary Anne graduated from Gwent College of Higher Education, Clarence Place, Newport in 1987. After gaining a BA Hons in Graphic Design, she went on to establish the partnership Chieftan Arts, which completed many community arts projects around Newport.

For several years Mary Anne was an archaeological illustrator for The National Museum of Wales, and in 1995, she achieved a PGCE in Art and Design from the Cardiff Institute of Art and Design

Two years ago, fulfilling a long-held ambition, Mary Anne began working with stained glass and went on to perfect the copper foil technique thought to have been introduced in by Louis Tiffany around 1900. The technique gives the effect of leaded glass, but allows far more intricacy. Each finished piece is then hand polished.
