EXHIBITOR SPACES AT CAERLEON ARTS FESTIVAL 2008

Artists and craftspeople are invited to take space to exhibit and sell their work during the weekend of 12th and 13th July.  As usual we are offering spaces under cover or outside.  The mini-marquees, introduced last year, are available again for groups of exhibitors who want a bit more space of their own.

Over the past five years the festival has developed from its origin as a Sculpture Symposium into a broad spectrum arts event incorporating visual arts, music, drama, dance, poetry, film and more.   If you have been before you will know what a popular, enjoyable and friendly event it is.  If you haven’t been before, you can get a flavour of the atmosphere from this website.

This year’s festival will be slightly different from the past with the focus shifting to a week of evening events culminating in a weekend of activities on the field with plenty to do and see for all ages.  There will be no sculpture symposium as such this year.  Instead, the sculpture element will be focussed on the final three days of the festival when artists using a variety of materials will create sculptures refelcting this year’s theme of “Planet Earth”.  As usual, entry to the festival is free to the public.

We are hoping to launch the festival with a spectacular evening event in Caerleon’s Roman amphitheatre on Saturday 5th and/or Sunday 6th July.  This is subject to funding and yet to be confirmed.  If it goes ahead, there will be a limited number of exhibiting/selling spaces available.  If you might be interested in this, please indicate on the form and you will be contacted if the event goes ahead.

Advertising space is available in our festival programme which is distributed free of charge through tourist information offices, arts centres and many other other outlets as well as at the festival itself.  If you would like information about advertising, please contact Mandy Watkins on 01633 431240 or request information on the application form.

We hope you will join us this year.  If you have any queries or would like more information, please feel free to contact me.

With best wishes,
