Natalie is an illustrator, painter, animator and graphic designer and has been engaged in PhD research in hand-drawn animation, enabling her to illustrate and make her own films (her last one had more than 6,000 drawings in it).

Alongside her research she has had a few exhibitions of her paintings.

"I love doing portraits," she says, "as I am fascinated by people and their expressions and energy." Her work also draws on her background - born in the far east of Russia, she was brought up in Israel and now lives in the UK.

She believes this gave her "the opportunity to be an observer of people, their lives and beliefs, as well as being self conscious about my own."
