Wild Flowers in the Festival Meadow

The Gateway Project – A Meadow in the Making.
Work continues to transform the Hanbury Field into a wild flower meadow.  It is a long term project, but progress is being made.  Earlier this year a boundary hedge was planted by local children and volunteers to separate the field from the derelict garage site.  In early summer the field was cut by a specialist horse drawn team.  Since last autumn wild flower seeds and plants have been introduced under the guidance of Marilyn, the “Green Tree Lady”.  Here are some results caught on camera by Marilyn and Max, just two of our Festival volunteers.
