The live final will be held at 2.00pm on Sunday July 3rd 2016 at the Priory Hotel in Caerleon

Now entering its fifth year the 2016 All Wales Comic Verse Competition continues to offer some of the largest cash prizes for any poetry competition in Wales, comic or otherwise. Appealing to a wide cross section of poets, previous entrants have included those short-listed for the Wales Book of the Year and the John Tripp Award for Performance Poetry as well as those writing purely for their own pleasure.

Attracting competitors from all parts of the country, former finalists have traveled from as far afield as Gwynedd, Wrexham and West Wales to compete. Taking place in the beautiful grounds of the historic Priory Hotel, as in previous years broadcaster and former “Newport Town Poet”, Goff Morgan will host the live performance final. There will be an interval performance by Jonathan Edwards.

The competition forms part of the Celf Caerleon Arts Festival, “Literature on the Lawn” weekend.
£3.00 fee per entry, up to 3 poems per person, no more than 30 lines long.
